“Process of imagination”

New term I’ve just learned and will be using when talking about how we can make changes in our cities and world, that are often hard to imagine since they don’t yet exist.

Illinois State Senator Karina Villa sprang into action to protect her community from ICE raids, alerting neighbors to their rights and chasing off masked agents. This is how you stand up to authoritarianism. We should all be inspired by Sen. Villa's courage.

The Guardian names ANDOR the Best Show of the Year.

“It is unlikely we will see something like it - politically radical with Disney budget carte blanche - ever again.”

If the Greater Bay Area/Northern California (SF, OAK, SJ, Sac, Stockton, SC) were to be energy independent, water independent and 80% food independent, what would have to change, even if the population stayed the same?

Andor’s music is so powerful in the final episodes From S2E7’s Messenger to the finale S2E12, we hear the resonant warm bell of what might be called Bix’s Theme in 4 episodes. All are deeply meaningful emotional moments.

We start with E7 when the Force healer tells Bix that Cassian is a Messenger

There is no moral justification for today’s extraordinary concentration of wealth.

It is distorting politics, rigging markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people.

Closing our staggering wealth gap is crucial to the survival of our economy and our democracy.

The NRA buys off Congress. No action on guns.

The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate.

Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care.

The list goes on and on.

Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.

Possibly my favorite scene that no-one talks about. It’s the opening scene in Andor Season 2 episode 1. Such a human connection in this scene, with Andor showing his connection to all people. youtu.be/rugpDpd0aV4?... #YoureComingHomeToYourself

Moving forward, we’ll need more arcaded sidewalks on commercial streets. They provide protection from hot sun, a bit of wind protection, and add more floor area above.

How about we rezone the less wind risky north-south streets with these? I’m looking at you Valencia, Polk, and maybe West Portal!

Happy 10 year anniversary (+8 months) to the 55 Muni bus line. You may be newer, you may be rerouted as the 55 Dogpatch, and once were the 55 16th St. You are beloved either way. @sfmta.com

Cities aren’t inherently loud—but automobile traffic raises noise pollution to 60 decibels+.

In #France, the city of #Lyon has set aside four “zones calmes,” where decibel levels regularly go as low as 28.

They’ve strung up hammocks to welcome people...
