Waste not, Want not --- Mystery Pumpkins

I planted pumpkins 2 years ago. They sprouted this spring.

I'm gonna be making a lot of pumpkin based foods.

Found out that Rust Desk (my remote desktop software) will keep a connection going. I guess when the software is self-hosted there is not need to code an arbitrary timeout.

I still use Microsoft 365. I still use Google workspace.

But the majority of my tools and even my office suite is hosted locally.

If you're interested in switching off these big services, hit me up.

The Micro$oft outage is even causing problems on my Linux install…
I just disabled the repos to solve the problem… But it's annoying.

I coded this Open Source Smart Plug: https://amzn.to/4hucsEy

To reset my modem when the internet goes down. Which in this windy part of rural Texas happens about once every few days.

Just tried out the new Agama installer for OpenSUSE Leap 16, and overall, I’m impressed. The setup process is clean and modern, but I did run into a small bug in the network settings —

You'll get used to having running water inside of your house or running hot water, but you'll find yourself complaining about the fact that it takes two minutes for the hot water to get to your tap after you've turned on the hot water at the faucet.

Windows embedded operating system runs on a lot of different devices like on Fujitsu scanners, for example, at least this one. It's using Windows embedded and its Windows 8.The software that actually runs the scanner itself is Foxit. They're known for Foxit Phantom PDF.

I hate it when problems magically fix themselves. Even more so when they leave NO EVIDENCE of brokennesssssss.

People are switching to Linux Desktop because they are sick of the Ads and AI BS

I've supported customers running Linux Desktop years.

https://txtechnician.com/r/getminty

I have far less problems reported from the customers that are running desktop Linux than the ones who are running Windows.

Got buried in the news this weekend, but President Jesus said the F word on CNN at like 2pm in the afternoon. The next day he posted a poop-filled scat video, but tell Me more about the dignity of the office of the presidency.

The basis of troubleshooting is to "Rule Out; Not In".

This means that we are ruling out parts of a system that may hold the thing which is causing our problem.

You narrow down the possible causes of the problem so that you have a spot to start troubleshooting at.

Best two weeks of the year (as a Texas Panhandler). My air conditioner didn't turn on once today!

Gonna be this way for about one more week. Then it's back to weather extremes.
