I'm not even what I'd call highly visible and I've been threatened with lawsuits and had people write my employer to try to get me fired for sharing what I observed during 2020. One of the people who threatened me participated in a version of Jan 6 at the Colorado State Capitol.
Always surprised how many folk on social media are unaware that highly visible women online regularly get threatened w/ rape and other violence. Happens to every woman w/ a substantial following I know, has for a decade regardless of platform. And no, authorities don’t care and that’s no solution.

From a reader/viewer perspective, I'd think any news organization would benefit from taking a clear adversarial position on the incoming administration. That they are sacrificing that news edge to capitulate feels a lot like the billionaire owners have come to a group decision.

The Equal Rights Amendment is the proposed 28th Amendment to the Constitution that would guarantee equal rights to all people regardless of sex. Drafted nearly a century ago, the ERA finally passed the threshold for certification in 2020 when Virginia became the 38th state to ratify.
