What’s happening in Chicago is awful. Here’s an opportunity to support mutual aid from a friend in Chicago that I fully trust www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/...

This is the line that Dems need to push. It can't be simply. "Political violence is bad" it MUST be "Political violence is bad and Trump and his ilk are responsible for creating conditions ripe for political violence"
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on the shooting of Charlie Kirk:

"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."

University admins literally run institutions full of experts in every subject and not only do they never consult them, they go out of their way to insult that expertise while following the world's most deliberately stupid consultants. Every time. It's a death cult.
These people know nothing about our professions, yet they presume to tell us confidently that AI will "replace" us and it matters what they say because the people in charge of funding universities sadly take their guidance not from faculty but from techbros/companies like this.
Kiran Tomlinson has no experience working in these fields, what archives has he visited? What oral histories has he collected? Why should we be buying his analysis of how AI will replace us? Neither have @soniajaffe.bsky.social, Will Wang, Scott Counts or Siddharth Suri.
They know NOTHING.

As we see another tax cut, reducing funding available for Utah students, keep an eye on further attempts to reduce or eliminate income tax.

There are lot of better ways to spend this money to help kids and improve our education system instead of vouchers. Voucher programs have no oversight and bad outcomes.

HB100 & SB173 were presented in requests for appropriations today. They tackle food insecurity & academic learning at different levels, but each are a smart investment in Utahn children. Hats off to both sponsors.

Both are still sitting waiting for a committee hearing.

It was a close vote, that went the wrong way for public employees.

The arguments in support of the bill sounded like people trying to convince themselves that what they were doing is ok.

Gov. Cox should veto!
Your list of #utleg Republican State Senators who voted in favor of taking away collective bargaining for our hard working public employees, who should have the option to have someone represent them in employee negotiations.

🐻Write 90 min
🐻Call my reps during lunch (5calls.org)

Feel free to share any of your own.
