ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

Call a Senator that voted no tonight and demand that they vote to remove Chuck Schumer as Senate Minority Leader.

He has weaponized his incompetence against the American people by allowing 8 Dem Senators to cave to an authoritarian regime. We need real leadership, not the oligarchy’s lapdog
Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him

And they should, given this is his fault.
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.

One of the talking points I keep seeing from Democrats is that part of the deal is that it will "ensure federal workers receive back pay" but that's the existing law!

That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.

Shaheen (NH) (retiring)
Hassan (NH)
King (ME)
Cortez-Masto (NV)
Rosen (NV)
Kaine (VA)
Durbin (IL) (retiring)
Fetterman (PA)

The good news is that Harry Reid is spinning in his grave so fast it’s going to launch the earth into the fucking sun.

@schumer.senate.gov needs to lose his job for this.

Whatever else is in the deal, agreeing to merely have a vote on ACA is a fig leaf. Even if it passes the Senate, it won't in the House, which also makes it an easy yes vote for the Senate Rs who might want to, defusing it as an attack on them.

It is a stupid ask even on Team Schumer's own terms.

Followed politics since I was 12 and the one consistent through line is that national Democrats will always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and cave on any principle in pursuit of .bipartisanship. There is not a single, sincere belief at the core of the party.

Couldn’t end any other way tbh

It’s fair to say that @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social campaign doesn’t happen without Seattle’s democracy vouchers. NYC and Seattle have public financing systems and (likely) both elected renter-mayors (joining Baltimore’s Brandon Scott - also w/ public matching funds). Pretty strong vindication!

one of the things i think is that policies answer the question of “what will you do” but they don’t answer the question of “why should i vote for you” and i think there is a tendency in this broad conversation to equate the two
