Very brief (less than 10 mins) and diffuse #aurora substorm at 10:25PM EDT, 7/12/25 in Goshen, MA. The moon rose about 24 mins before this but was not high enough yet to wash it out.

Very brief appearance of the aurora at 1:07AM EDT, June 2 in Western Mass. It lasted less than five minutes but was enough of a tease to keep me searching in vain the rest of the night.

Unexpected #aurora substorm in Goshen, MA on 4/18 at 12:26AM EDT. The central pillar was bright enough to be seen by the naked eye!

Amazing #aurora display in Western Mass at 10:17PM. The storm was so strong that the pillars were visible to the naked eye.

The sun has been quiet the past couple of months and auroras have been hard to find, especially with the clouds we have had in New England this winter. Last night, we had a brief and faint #aurora substorm in Goshen, MA around 11:45PM.
