We spent the past month (months?) talking w/ protesters detained at Portland's ICE bldg about their experiences. We heard everything from being questioned about antifa, to not being read Miranda rights, to photos w/ arresting officers.

Two things felt different to the ppl I spoke with who’d been protesting at the ICE building for months.
1st was the sheer volume of tear gas, pepper balls and flash-bangs used, seemingly unprovoked.
2nd was seeing so many videographers/live-streamers embedded with the feds as they marched out.

Neil Olshey fuming he couldn’t get this many guards to Portland.
The Oregon National Guard said it has begun the process of mobilizing guard members with law enforcement experience to comply with President Donald Trump’s deployment order for 200 troops in Portland, but it could be next week before there are actual boots on the ground.
At least 166 Oregon National Guard members have volunteered for Trump deployment
Lt. Col. Stephen Bomar, director of public affairs for the Oregon Military Department, said Thursday is the absolute earliest the guard could arrive in Portland – but he wouldn’t bet on that.
