Surviving metastatic breast cancer is a matter of getting a treatment to work long enough that when the cancer overcomes it, a new treatment is available.
My wife has been doing this for 15 years. Each time the cancer started moving, a new medicine was available.

Shutting down medical research — not just within NIH, but everywhere that’s funded by NIH — will have long-term effects on medicine & short-term effects on state, higher education & hospital budgets. This affects all of us, not just researchers.
The assault on NIH is a test for how the national media covers the Trump admin: Trump is shutting down medical research!
That is easy to communicate. Will they treat it as a 5 alarm fire in a way that forces the government to respond, or will they downplay & caveat it?

oh how i hope this site continues to be a place of sharing info and caring. had to wade thru so much ick and hate on the bird/letter site i had given up.

really didn’t anticipate the sorrow moving to bluesky would cause. going thru the list of those i have followed to find them here and realized just how many beautiful souls are now gone. #fcancer
