Worked on the static effect for conversation startup and ComsTalk stuff a bit. Instead of wiping up, which I always thought looked weird, it slowly fades now. I did leave just a bit of the effect to give more of an analog feel to the communication.

A planet in orbit follows its delicate and mathematically perfect orbit to serene music. (First pass at planet gen! Wish I had gone with URP in the first place... had to hop over to it today and it was a pain).

Very much wish I had started with the URP for graphics in the first place... losing so many hours to converting. ^^;
All for the planet stuff, though. And this will allow me to have access to other cool aftereffects as well.

The scan menu exists in alpha form! Obviously much more polish to do here, but it's something. Also refined what buttons look like when deactivated a bit...

I KNOW this doesn't seem a lot different than before, but the intentionality and power of the tools I'm using now are something more than just random values XD. The Jackalopes are the first race to have a voice mutation system that I would even classify as beta.

More work on the voice system. Learned a ton about synthesizers, and slowly going through data that looks like this, reworking it into something much more sane... Hope to have something good to listen to very soon!

Spent the last few days working on pre-cacheing assets to prevent places I had found where it would lag things visually... Not a lot of visuals to show from this unfortunately, but it will ensure the game is nice and smooth! Currently working on the New Game intro sequence...

Working on the Zoccoli writing script for their interstellar language of trade, Overspeak. This is my first time trying to make more traditional letters, and a script font, at that! It's definitely a bit tricker than I had anticipated!

Finished the language font for The Congregation! I'm really happy with how this one came out! I kind of wanted to make it fully tessellating, with all of the characters fitting vertically into one another perfectly, but there's no good way to do that.

So what if warp travel involved chasing a receding event horizon from the perspective of the traveler? Cool thought that might make it into the game... something I threw together which I think is neat here. ^^

Minor thing, but a lot of people requested the ability to skip past startup animations for the game. This lets you do that either with Esc on mouse/keyboard or the south face button on controllers. Just a little convenience, tweak!

The player ship is much farther along than a few weeks ago, when I posted some of the initial sketches! This is one of the mockups from a version with a general shape that I'm really happy with!
