So many artists, writers, and designers I know have learned this lesson the tedious way, so let me co-sign this and say not only is it a huge waste of time and labor to listen to the "I'd buy that" crowd online, you will also lose money. Make what *you* want to make, everything else is noise
The biggest thing i've learned as an artist who sells prints and merch is don't make what people ask for. They won't buy it. Make what you, the artist, want to see printed on the support of ur choice.
I can't explain why but THAT'S what will sell. People who buy the most are the silent ones. 🫶

Remember, artists: when people say, “I’d buy a print of this,” they don’t mean it. That sentence itself is just a weird compliment that rarely converts to an actual print sale. It’s like if someone ate a very good hot dog and then said, “I could eat 10,000 of these right now.”

It also implies that transness is only accessible through medicine. The limitless expressions of gender we embody and perform are not limited by hormones or surgery. Those are supplemental for some and necessary for others, but a requirement for no one. Transness transcends class as it does meds.
Transness is not bourgeois. This is a wedge idea dreamed up by some gleefully amoral think tank lobotomite to split trans people and make us fight each other. That we relay on modern medicine doesn't make us any more bourgeois than someone who needs antidepressants or cleft palate repair.
