Most of our commonly used statistical techniques in CL only help us identify differences between groups. But what if we instead want to empirically test whether two groups are similar/practically equivalent?

This was a really interested paper to work on. And we’re really happy that it has led to more discussion about how important it is that we approach our data as linguists (i.e. that we’re safeguarding a focus on language, even in highly quantitative analyses where we use advanced stats).
