GOP CONGRESS = American TRAITORS to the Constitution!😡
The GOP Congress is finally back at work after a five week vacation. They were paid while other government employees were not and food assistance was delayed for millions. The Republicans are supposed to work for their constituents but only answer to Donald Trump.

81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.

😡So, basically, patriotic Americans who want good things for the Country and our people get screwed while TRAITORS TO OUR COUNTRY GET PARDONED. WHAT a “president.”😡
Voters are open to the argument that “authoritarianism” describes the Trump project. But we shouldn’t get so hung up on the label that we forget to prosecute the deeply unpopular facts of each individual case. www.thebulwark.com/p/pardon-the...
Pardon the Corruption
Trump’s blanket pardons for stop-the-steal illegality aren’t only about settling scores from past elections. They’re about laying the groundwork to subvert future ones.

There’s real irony in this: lawmakers can’t get back to DC to vote to reopen the government because flights are canceled, thanks to the same shutdown they caused.

My political hot take is that US voters should be able to recall elected representatives via petition - at any time.
No more hiding behind election terms.

"But when a commander in chief and a Defense secretary spend the year sidelining combat-tested officers because of who they once worked for and when senior billets are treated like party jobs, the line has already been crossed from their side." On Veteran’s Day, Brian O’Neill offers his thoughts.
Quiet service in a noisy, political year
The people we celebrate today are serving under leaders who make that service harder.

The thing to understand about this is that this catastrophe in the UK has redounded to the political benefit of the very same people and political movement that pushed for it! Extremely perverse.
I wonder if the United States can learn anything from the last time a major industrialized country decided to isolate itself from the rest of the world?

Almost a decade after the Brexit vote, GDP in the UK is around 6-8% lower relative to peer countries. (Source: www.nber.org/papers/w34459)

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.
