A great opportunity to try Tom's writing if you haven't already. This is a lovely little book
Here's a crazy idea: I've decided to give away 300 (300!) signed books on Bluesky today. Who knows if this will work but let's see, shall we? Be in the first 300 to reply to this & you can have one.(Limiting the offer to UK but happy to send overseas if people cover the postage.)
More info below...

Decided to give away this entire pile of my 2022 book Notebook for the price of postage today. If you can pay more, great. If not, no problem. Pop a reply below if you'd like one. It's a short, silly book, but sometimes a bit serious, too, and people tell me it's a good easy gateway to my writing.

Hi. Do you think it’s ridiculous that wealthy foreigners could potentially donate huge sums of money to British political parties and would like Labour to maybe do something to close the loopholes that allow this? Then maybe sign this petition:
Petition: Tighten the rules on political donations
We want the government to: Remove loopholes that allow wealthy foreign individuals to make donations into UK political parties (e.g. by funnelling through UK registered companies). Cap all donations ...

As the year draws to close it's hard not to look back & think of one big project that dominated my 2024. I am, of course, talking about making 40+ tiny Ryan Gosling action figures.

Here's a thread on why and how that happened!

The secret of those living to over 100? Most are already dead…
Rather than lifestyle factors such as diet or social connections, the apparent longevity of people in ‘Blue Zones’ can be explained by pension fraud, clerical errors, and a lack of reliable birth and death records.
The secret of ‘Blue Zones’ where people reach 100? Fake data, says academic
University College London researcher is on a mission to debunk shoddy research into the world’s oldest people.

Seriously folks, if Sunak is toast for leaving D-Day early, how can Reform survive *their* *spokesman* saying it was 'probably true' that we shouldn't have fought the Nazis?

If they survive this, it's because they are allowed to.
A Reform UK spokesman said:

"His historical perspective of what the UK could have done in the 30s was shared by the vast majority of the British establishment including the BBC of its day, and is probably true."

Please, they are not disavowing this.

Reform, the party of appeasement
The fun begins.

Reform candidate for Bexhill and Battle Ian Gribbin says the UK should have been neutral to Hitler.

Farage blames the comments on “a snap election”.

It's the birthday of Patrick McGoohan, born to Irish farmer parents, worked in a wire mill, then a chicken farmer, then an assistant stage manager, became an actor by accident, then a star, turned down £1M to play James Bond, created The Prisoner, lived by his own rules. A remarkable man.

We didn’t expect that it would go mad."
