@johnkane.bsky.social and @cyberthread.bsky.social always deliver. Excellent conversation once again. I do my best when I listen to actually make a cup of tea. Reminds me to slow down once in a while.

Congratulations, Sarah! Love your perspective and what you choose to write about.

Regardless of who is the host, it would be an amazing conversation between the two of you in this topic.

Thank you for your work in developing this. It was a lot of fun and I could see so many ways it could be used when teaching. I will admit that it was a little scary, which made the interview even more fun.

Come teach with us at SUNY Oswego! We’re hiring an Assistant Professor of Interaction Design and have new facilities opening in time for the new academic year. It is an exciting time to join us.

I have always liked any movie based on real life events with positive and uplifting outcomes. At this time, I find myself preferring those more and more.

I am in Northern Michigan visiting family near where I grew up. I have confirmation that after 16 years in North Carolina that all my Yankee blood is officially been replaced.
This needs to be said, loud, and often.

I just read a study noting it is easier to read an emotion correctly from a human face as compared to emojis. With partial face blindness, that explains a lot and why some emojis stress me out. Nuances are particularly tough. 😞😔😟😕🙁☹️??? Now, a well structured Likert scale, that makes sense. 😎

I decided that today I would see what it was like to have just 1 full day with little/no external cog stimulation, to get a glimpse of a life without constantly learning new things supported by evidence. At 9:45 I opened BlueSky by habit and quickly realized my quest must wait for another day. 😊

Thanks, Derek. I encourage everyone to take a minute and check out the Teaching Hub resource. With many amazing contributors there are already over 60 collections. I also suspect if you have expertise in an area not currently included, you might be able to become a contributor.

Great group for my session at the Lilly Conference in Ohio. This one is titled: The Ones Too Often Left Behind. I am so grateful for the provost at Southern Oregon University for suggesting I attend a Lilly Conference in 1996.

That is fantastic news. You did amazing work at Vandy that helped so many. Over the years I have referred scores of faculty to the materials you and your team developed there.

So excited to be headed today to the 43rd Annual Lilly Conference at Miami University. This conference started when interdisciplinary conferences were not yet a “thing” and well before the internet. Over the next 3 days I will learn from many disciplines and bump colleagues toward bluer skies 😁

Tom is so knowledgeable about so much.

That is hilarious. I used this book when I was a newish faculty member. So honored to be part of this edition.

Thank you. I think it came out well. Tom is a genius.

Thanks for creating this. Because of your efforts I just found some cool people I may have never found on my own.

A Lilly Conference in San Diego in January. It is worth thinking about 😁. The program is looking solid. There is still an opportunity to present but going to conference and learning from colleagues without any concerns about giving a presentation is a great feeling.

Looks like we are finally moving on from Lecture v. Active learning 😁

Just in case you haven’t heard, the new edition is out. 2nd edition was 1993, so a bit of new stuff 😁

The IUT conference has been around about as long as POD. It is smallish (200 people or so) but a good event. 2025 will be in London. iutconference.com
