I live across from a park with basketball courts, a skatepark, handball courts, and now pickleball courts and only the noise of pickleball makes me want to rage across the street and do violence (I would never, but the kerplink-kerplunk at 6 am...)

We set out to find the real reason pickleball noise is so annoying
The racket from some 70,000 pickleball courts across the United States has generated bitter fights. If we understand the sound, can we learn to ignore it?

Two days after seeing Waiting for Godot on Broadway @aboutmattlaw.bsky.social saw Keanu Reeves getting out of his car and told him how much we enjoyed him in the play. I love NYC.

My second thought: Unfortunately, it's Dr. Oz.

A great steering wheel that doesn’t whiff out the window while I’m driving. That is a good idea! Write it down!

Also someone needs to explain to, not just Rappoport (who is an idiot), but a lot of other people too, that the premise of democratic socialism is not that everyone is poor but that everyone can have nice things and afford an occasional date night out

NYC mayoral history made fun is a true feat that was firmly pulled off yesterday with a 10/10 event that brought a huge number of people of all ages together. Kudos to @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and the campaign.
The scavenger hunt is using NYC mayoral history to paint Mamdani as firmly within the mainstream of that history. On age. On DSA membership. On public transportation policy. It's such a smart way to launch the general election campaign.
OMG the Mamdani campaign is utterly brilliant. Chef's kiss. Art.

if you're not from or have never been to new york i cannot stress enough how normal the subway is 99% of the time. kids take it to school. everyone is basically chill. you learn to be in proximity with harmless weirdos or minor irritations pretty quick. for all its issues it's an incredible thing
