I think critics,devs,audiences should treasure & protect unintuitive genre abstractions. Like static cameras in survival horror games. The fact that its tied to a genre makes it a known language to players. & that's a beautiful thing cuz devs wont have to do the teaching every time they use it

couldn't be me. they put me in a new collection with arcade-perfect gameplay, incredibly low input lag, excellent practice features, and a brand-new sequel to me that they made themselves for the fun of it

I think the most psychopathic thing about NGB is something no one ever mentions, the game will frequently have rooms where killing 60 enemies in a row nets you a reward, and that reward is often a health extension.
Finding this out has done psychic damage to me because now I feel compelled to do it.

I think few if any videogame series can even come close to how immaculate Streets of Rage is.
Four games with pristine game design, art direction, and music.
All of them extremely different and all excellent.
I even love SoR3's procedural music weirdness.

being flatly opposed to remakes in videogames is very much a reactionary impulse- after all you don't get stuff like John Carpenter's The Thing without remakes, and they should ideally just be judged on their own merits- but OH BOY is it an understandable impulse

Honestly nah it's very easy to not care about the horse gacha considering it's tied to the actual real-life gambling scheme of horse betting.
No matter how moe you make it, I'll never be favorable to horse racing from both an animal rights and anti-gambling stance.

its hard being a no gacha hardliner when all my oomfs are enjoying horsegirls and so on but there is one silver lining: i am a huge square enix fan, and as such i never have to worry about one of their gacha games succeeding and taking over the company
