Latest rabbit hole I've gone down: having Claude Code help me clean up and fine tune my Home Assistant configuration. Got through the basics and now it's moved into the "let's see what we can come up with next!" phase.

This is a must buy. I've been reading the material @lethain.com has shared leading up to this and it's been enormously helpful in refining my own thinking about engineering strategy.

When you ask ChatGPT a question, you're in control of the information you're sharing, EFF’s Lena Cohen told @USAToday.com, but “when you're using the Atlas browser for day-to-day tasks, it's easier to forget that all of your activity could be sent to OpenAI."

OpenAI launches ChatGPT-powered web browser. What to know before downloading.
ChatGPT Atlas is a free internet browser that can regurgitate browser history, provide writing help and complete basic ordered tasks.

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

I don't think this is "the most solid indicator." We can do better than studies with 16 participants who were directly told the study was about AI speedup

I wrote about this study & why I don't think it's particularly strong evidence for this effect:

This is happening after the seven largest publicly traded health insurance companies reported a combined $71 BILLION in profits in 2024.
