Dad, professional comms guy, freaked out by climate change, in a bluegrass band called Hollertown, cyclist, DC native.
NIMBY alert in #tenleytown! This was hand delivered to my house. It asks for letters to the DC zoning commission to oppose upzoning around metro stations, in transit corridors…the usual nimby stuff. I plan on writing a letter supporting upzoning.

Once again, I’m giving up biking on Conn. Ave., the fastest, most direct and level route b/t my house and work, because a driver, once again, passed me so close at 30+MPH I could touch their car, in the lane I lawfully occupied. This after the driving right behind me, gunning the engine + honking.

After reneging on Conn. Ave. Bike lanes, ripping out bike lanes on Ariz. Ave. and failing to enforce traffic laws, it’s good to see that @mayorbowser.bsky.social and @ddotdc.bsky.social have a sense of humor.

I’m all for improving driver training but creating ways for people to drive less is a better way to improve road safety.

We need to ramp up the standards for road tests and train people to be better drivers.

The District Dept. of Transportation plans to eliminate Arizona Ave. NW protected bike lanes. Use this action to tell DDOT you object: waba.org/action-page/... . The city should not compromise safety because a few individuals don’t like the look of flex posts.

Opinion | The RFK megaproject promises just empty gloom. Let’s try this instead.
Rather than an expensive megaproject, D.C. should focus on an organic approach to city-building.
