Failing to deliver on housing will be disaster for Carney and for Canada. The housing crisis is serious and is impacting the futures of many people.
Claiming that the private sector will pick up the slack is the mantra of Paul Martin who put us in this disastrous slide.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

Women are definitely not safe with the cops, contrary to all the copaganda blasted at us from Kindergarten onward.

Most Indigenous people would agree.

My personal “Don’t give to the Salvation Army” story:
When I was homeless in 2019, the Salvation Army shelter refused to give me a bed (even though they were available), because I was on immunosuppressant meds and they didn’t want to be responsible or liable if I got more sick or died on premises. They’d rather I die on the street.
It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.

We were so glad we got the NOT-PP as PM, we are missing (for now) the fact that Carney is implementing most of the Harper agenda.

Hear the word 'austerity' in the leadership campaign or subsequent election?

Libs run from the left and govern from the right.
Carney is just a little more extreme.

Today I learned that “leftists” on Bluesky think that society has no obligation to people who are extremely high risk of COVID/long COVID, so I guess those high risk folks have no place in society. Awesome. Just when I thought I couldn’t be more disappointed.

Here’s both the legal and ethical reality: If the state can skip due process for some people, it can skip it for anyone. Either there’s a rule that decides who gets left out (which means due process still exists), or there isn’t one (which means no one’s protected). There’s no middle ground.

In a world as rich as ours, we can craft such societies. We don’t need to shove people down, exploit them, or cast them out. It’s completely possible.

We choose not to.

So I don’t care if someone is significantly “non productive”. I’m happy for you if you are and that fulfills you of course!

“Post hoc ergo propter hoc” is one of the most powerful fallacies of human logic.

You’re much closer to becoming disabled or homeless than you are to becoming rich and wealthy.

It’s not a moral failing. It’s not something you can “try harder” your way out of.

We need robust social supports & safety nets to ensure everyone is properly cared for.

It’s about normalizing surveillance, criminalizing migration, and attacking Canadians’ privacy and Charter rights.
