The winter months are heavy with loss for me so I think I'll be making my grief more of a priority in this space.

It's been more than 14 years since my surrogate father died of lung cancer.

Heres 2 of the only photos I have with him

I wonder about what he would think of adult me

Hate that my work life was actively falling apart when we had reason to hope for a few days

I find hope in young people and in organizing. If you dont have a connection to one or both yet, I suggest finding one.

1 decent election night does not fix this bullshit

Its not fun when you ask for support at work and the request is denied or ignored

I should be having a great week because of Tuesdays rebuke of this administration. I cried on my way home instead

Baltimore County paid $2.4 million for an AI weapons detection system with no oversight

Response to a false alarm terrorized a Black student who did nothing wrong

Thanks for the great op-ed @baltimorebeat.bsky.social

Went to Indivisible Baltimore County's rally against County Exec Kathy Klausmeier's MOU with the ICE/DHS

There were many good speakers, but as a former Catholic, this struck me

Most Americans are uneducated about Latin America (by design) and I have some movie recommendations about Latin American authoritarian governments

Argentina
1. Argentina, 1985 (2022)
2. The Official Story (1985)
3. The Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo (1985)
4. Night of the Pencils (1986)

Put on my union hat this evening and met with a candidate who would like our gr committee to consider making an endorsement in their race

I would like to spend the rest of the evening thinking and strategizing around things I learned BUT I have a paper to write 🫠

Argentina's version of Trump won a midterm election yesterday

Trump just promised the country $40 billion if he won

Coincidence?

Novavax vaccines are available at CVS! (in the Baltimore area at least)

I got my flu shot too and got a $10 off of $20 purchase coupon (and rewarded myself with silly snacks)

Join me at the Avelo protest tomorrow in Annapolis!

They're the only passenger airline that flies deportation flights. Governor Moore should kick them out of BWI (and weve got 12,000+ petition signatures to motivate him)
This Saturday, Oct. 25th, we've got 3 big chapter events:

🤝 12-5pm | Mutual Aid Fair in Pauline Fauntleroy Park outside of Sharon Baptist Church!

🌹 2:30-4:30pm | General Body Meeting: our monthly meeting at Red Emma's!

🚫✈️ 2-4pm | Avelo Out of BWI Statewide Rally at Lawyer's Mall in Annapolis!

Rodney Taylor still needs our help!

He’s still locked in an ICE camp.

He’s still going without his new prosthetic legs.

He’s still facing deportation to Liberia.

He’s still having necessary disability accommodations ignored.

Please keep sharing his story. Public pressure works!

Rodney Taylor was days away from receiving new prosthetic legs when ICE grabbed him.

He’s been detained for more than 8 months.

They won’t allow him to get his new legs & put him in solitary confinement.

He needs the disability community’s help!

His petition just hit 3,000… keep it going!
