I mean AI might replace all of us one day; but, at least I don’t need to learn RegEx anymore. That is a haunted language. Let the robots deal with it.

Am I using the Internet wrong or something? I never used Pocket; but, I have used a read-it-later service since Marco owned Instapaper. I don’t know what tab groups or enhanced bookmarks are; but, I don’t think they’re a replacement for Pocket.

@gutenberg.org I am getting 504 Errors with any search and when trying to access any book from the homepage. I tried on my university wi-fi and on AT&T 5G, with the same results each time. Can you tell me if this is a known issue or if I am doing something wrong?

There’s one answer and it’s definitely Voltaire.
I think about this a lot when it comes to 19th and 20th century figures. Which popular “geniuses” from American history would’ve been completely exposed as lunatics coasting on wealth and privilege if they were given a 24/7 way to communicate unfiltered with the world?
Has to be rough for Elon to know that his popularity is inversely correlated with his public exposure. People thought this guy was a genius before he started posting in earnest

Umm… that’s not what David Graeber was writing about when he called them “Bullshit Jobs”. (A term that he really shouldn’t have chosen and I’m guessing he would take back if he were alive.)

Fun fact: this was the only known recording of the saxophone at the time. The instrument was only invented the previous year.
Really enjoying this classic Sesame Street segment, two minutes of freestyle jazz riffing on saxophone factory footage

It feels like Jon wrote most of this article before he saw the performance. Kendrick wasn’t subtle. The picture at the top of the article kind of spells it out. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/09/a...
Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show: The Peak of All Rap Battles?
The first rapper to headline the N.F.L.’s biggest stage solo made his Drake diss “Not Like Us” the centerpiece of his set at the expense of a larger statement.

I am begging you: if you are writing a thread of more than a couple posts, get a blog. I don’t mean this in a mean way. I mean: allow this thought to continue to exist, outside of this platform, in an actually coherent, readable format that sticks around for longer than 20 minutes. You deserve it!

This is one of those photos where the more you look at it the crazier it gets. For one thing, you’ll never guess what color Zimmer’s pants are until you click through.

Just mesmerizing.
The whole Zimmer / Saudi Arabia thing is being slightly misreported as "he's going to write a new national anthem" — seems they're making him their national composer for state-sponsored projects, which is almost as bizarre. Also, everything about this photo
