It's not a serious concept and never has been. Calling things "race baiting" is part of the "antibody response" of white supremacy. It's sole purpose is to trivialize and mock legitimate expressions of grievance by racialized people, in particular Black people.
It is always bad faith.

I can't even entertain "race-baiting" as a serious concept. As though racism is a hot topic people engage in for fun & entice others to engage in for trifles. People who think discussions of race should be left out of the polite arena, always white, are the only for whom this idea has utility.
