Expect to sporadically post travel and landscape photography with some gear focused posts too. Mostly a Canon user although also a little Fujifilm, maybe Nikon, probably never Sony… 🤷🏻‍♂️
#NIKONZR #BIRDS #PHOTOGRAPHY A little more testing of the Nikon ZR. This time photo. Here's a cardinal on a rather ugly feeder but I do like the background bokeh. Using their 180-600mm zoom lens is comical with suck a small camera. It's also a challenge without a viewfinder!

#NIKONZR #LANDSCAPE #PHOTOGRAPHY Here's a second shot from the walk in the woods. This one is of the trail on the way back from the lake.

#NIKONZR #LANDSCAPE #PHOTOGRAPHY An image from a walk in the woods taken with the Nikon ZR. I was doing some more video testing but went ahead and took a few still shots as well.

#Nikon #NikonZR. One thing that Nikon may be able to address with firmware updates is the ZR’s lack of more advanced video exposure assist tools. The addition of False Color and Waveforms would make nailing the exposure easier. Also, some Red shooters want tools similar to their other cameras.

#Nikon #NikonZR The first issue with the Nikon ZR, ironically, is its size. In this image it is attached to Nikon’s 24-120mm f4 S standard zoom lens. With its small size and almost no grip for your fingers on the right, it’s not a comfortable camera to handhold with most Nikon lenses.

#Nikon #ZR I’m currently shooting some with the Nikon ZR. You’d think it rivals the second coming based on all of the YouTube hype. It doesn’t. It’s a good video camera but is missing features that would make it great. I’ll explain in another post.

Test post to see how Bksy handles video shorts. I had to go back and re-export this 30 second clip at medium quality with H.265 compression to get it under the 100mb file limit. It may look terrible...

Quite a different canyon today, Little River Canyon. A mini drought in the area for the last couple of months means not much fall color with a lot of leaves simply turning brown and falling off.

No new travel or landscape images to post yet. I do have a trip next month out west that should yield a couple of posts though. In the meantime, I was surprised that Canon is already shipping the new VCM lens announced back in the 9th of this month.
