Funny how there's no extra money for winter planning, but when it comes to sacking frontline clinical staff (yes, you did read that right - it's not JUST admin) they can suddenly find the cash.

Oh, and we ALREADY have 100,000 vacancies.

Utter, utter madness.

Keep in mind these are exactly the people who organised the biggest vaccination programme in British history during the pandemic too.
It's incredible that the story in the headlines today, about Wes Streeting is not that he has finally agreed with the treasury how he is going to sack tens of thousands of nurses at massive expense to the NHS.

If NHS trusts hadn’t had to pay more than £1.8 billion in *interest charges* to private companies, that money could have paid for the starting salaries of over 50,000 NHS doctors 😮🚨

This is so powerful.

Private healthcare has already contaminated our NHS too much. Don't let it go any further.

💷 In just 5 years, NHS trusts spent £3 billion paying off private finance deals.

60% of that — £1.8 billion — went on interest alone. That’s not investment. It’s extraction.

Our NHS deserves better....

If you know as we do, that you're far more likely to be treated by a migrant than stood behind one in a queue - then why not attend our exciting event next month?

Migrants are NOT TO BLAME for the NHS crisis - the reasons for that sit squarely with successive govts.

If the general public understood that resident doctors are simply asking for £22ph and for jobs to be available for them to specialise in - instead of having cost the taxpayer £250k to then have to drive Ubers and leave wards hideously short staffed - the govt would lose the argument overnight.

NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is being undermined by ‘gainshare’ contracts, where private firms profit by cutting care for the most vulnerable.

This is not efficiency. It’s exploitation.

Why does the NHS keep costing more?
1950 life expectancy was 69yrs it’s now 83yrs

14 more years of experience, living, grandchildren
14yrs of more costs £3600/person/year

5.6million people over 70yrs £20bn/pa

It costs to keep people alive with prevention, treatments, medicine

We have built a society in which people of different skin tones, religious backgrounds & cultures get along, share power, work alongside each other, procreate with each other, recognise the each other’s humanity and democratic rights. It is a STUNNING ACHIEVEMENT OF WORLD HISTORIC PROPORTIONS.
I know statistics are poorly understood and are misused. But facts matter

Between the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census *every* ethnic group in the UK has become *less* geographically segregated and *all* groups, majority and minorities, are more likely to interact with people not like them

Worrying signs the govt could cave to Big Pharma 💰

Paying more for medicines won’t “boost innovation”, it’ll just boost pharma profits while the NHS struggles to afford care.

Wes Streeting‘s quote yesterday was “if it‘s good enough for Southampton why isn’t it happening everywhere”,

which struck me at the time as an utterly inane thing to say about a pilot project, turns out I was right….

👇

(“Online hospitals” 🙄)
The pilot that this is based on at Southampton is really small and specific (IBS). Everytime my elderly mother has rung 111 and been triaged, ambulance service tells her to physically go to that very hospital. A&E always full. I can't see how we get from there to an online hospital by 2027?
