So Trump would not qualify for a US visa?
The Trump administration directed visa officers to consider obesity — and other chronic health conditions such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes — as reasons to deny foreigners visas to the U.S.

This is horrendous. Having a dependent with a disability is disqualifying. Also dependents who require elderly care. And many more.

The pundit and political class tended to downplay the Epstein Files because they believed it too salacious and not serious enough to drive government policy and decision-making. Except, they are doing just that. Dismissing the importance of the Files ignores who Trump is and who he has always been.

EPSTEIN: even today, after the release of the key Epstein-Maxwell emails in which Epstein says Trump knew about the "girls" but hasn't "barked" (presumably, talked), the NYT reports that the WH is intensely pressuring the House NOT to vote to release more? How much worse is what we have not seen?

For the first time all year, Democrats were riding high and the regime was on the ropes.

If Senate leadership’s goal was to demobilize and depress rank-and-file Democrats, they could not have played their cards better.

This is why we’ve launched the largest primary program that we’ve ever run.
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...

Please recruit candidates to primary every single senator who surrenders to the Republicans on the shutdown and does not stand up for healthcare for Americans.
Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

“They are scared of prayer.”
UPDATE: Reached out to the Rev. Hannah Kardon, a United Methodist minister who was there that day and has been active in religious demonstrations at Broadview.

“They are making it clear that they are scared of prayer … it speaks the truth that what they are doing in that building is evil.”

One clear message from yesterday’s voters, across the spectrum: Republican mudslinging & fear mongering Don’t. Feed. My. Family.
Zohran Mamdani’s joyful campaign made New Yorkers feel good. But in the long run, his victory could make Republican strategists feel even better econ.st/43ensjw

Pete Buttigieg responded to Kamala Harris' assertion that it would've been too risky to have a Black woman and a gay man running on the same ticket, saying: "Politics is about the results we can get for people, and not about all these other things."
Buttigieg "surprised" at Harris' reason for not making him her VP pick
"I just believe in giving Americans more credit," he told Politico.

In New Mexico, we love our green chile dip, and kids love their half-pint milk cartons. Even more, we appreciate the workers that produce them. They deserve respect and a fair contract.

I will always stand with unions in demanding fair pay, good benefits, and safe working conditions.

Watch for these moves in the coming days:

1.) Instant sanctification by the leader
2.) Rituals that migrate into rallies
3.) Attribution-before-evidence
4.) Policy ratchet tied to grief: calls for emergency powers, campus purges
5.) Merchandising the memory,
When Tragedy Becomes Theatre - Don’t Let Them “Horst Wessel” Charlie Kirk
The warning isn’t about equivalence; it’s about a tactic. Authoritarians turn death into myth, grief into mobilization, they are experts at turning funerals into furnaces. Resist the myth-making

No one in this country should have to fear gun violence, whether they're in class in high school or attending an event on a college campus.

I strongly condemn the shooting that killed Charlie Kirk today at Utah Valley University.

May his memory be a blessing.

If this is how you”support” workers, Senator, I can’t support you. Hard NO!
In April, @slotkin.senate.gov announced her intended support for legislation that would CUT and FREEZE the wages of farm workers - one of the most underpaid professions in the US.
This is just wrong!

Call Senator Slotkin TODAY! Urge her to withdraw her support.
