I hate to give them the satisfaction by admitting that they get under my skin, but it's really disconcerting to see the Punisher logo on trucks driven by the the kind of people who would have called me homophobic slurs just for reading comics.

I was a very stupid child, but this film profoundly affected me when I saw it in the theatre. When I was put to bed after watching it, I would weep for the poor man who wanted to sleep like a normal person. It was my first taste of empathy, and for that, I will always be grateful to David Lynch.
