As a child Australia Day was a fun celebration of the arrival of the First Fleet in Port Jackson on the 26 Jan 1788. Now a day of mixed feelings, acknowledging this as the start of colonisation. It is now and was then Gadigal land, whose people had been living there for tens of thousands of years.
