I have written a lot of negative reviews in my time but I don't think I will ever write a review as quietly damning as Charli xcx's Letterboxd review of A Complete Unknown

I had a lot of fun writing this month's Fantastic Four cover feature. Ralph Ineson has finally settled the question of who is more evil: Galactus or Finchy from The Office.
To play Galactus in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Ralph Ineson had to envision himself as “a cosmic force”.

He visited tall buildings, and drove through the tunnels of Mont Blanc, “imagining that as his windpipe and trachea,” he tells Empire

EXCLUSIVE 4️⃣

#TheFantasticFour: First Steps will bring “classic Fantastic Four energy” to the MCU, says Kevin Feige.

“No four characters are more important for the history of Marvel,” he tells Empire. “I really wanted to do them justice.”

This month's subscriber cover is a dazzling tease of Galactus and the Silver Surfer, on their way to deliver seriously bad news to our heroes.

Very sad to learn that Barry McIlheney, Empire’s visionary original editor, has passed away.

Sharp, funny, and bold, in 1989 he and his team laid down the tone and philosophy of the magazine, something we still strive to follow today.

Here’s a piece he wrote for our 400th issue a few years back.

FLOW is finally out in UK cinemas. A hugely-deserving Oscar-winner and one of the best films you'll see this year, animated or otherwise. My review:
"A mesmerising, wondrous example of animation’s potential."

A cat must struggle to survive during a cataclysmic flood in the Oscar-winning animated film Flow — in UK cinemas today.

"No genuinely independently-made film has ever triumphed in the Best Animated Feature category — until now."

The success of Latvian filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis' #Flow at last night's Oscars "is a sea-change of a win," writes @thenuge.bsky.social.

Tried to find the words about The Royal Tenenbaums, Gene Hackman's almost-final role: a gorgeous film which carries an extra resonance today.
"Hackman finds room for Royal to be gentle and generous and vulnerable, sometimes in almost the same breath as his assholery."

The Royal Tenenbaums now stands as the perfect swansong for Gene Hackman's career, writes @thenuge.bsky.social: www.empireonline.com/movies/featu...
