I was outed as trans yesterday. Haven’t seen the consequences yet, but it made me realize that while the world is dark sometimes, there will always be amazing people lighting it up. I realized that I truly found my chosen family and that gives me confidence that I’ll survive whatever comes my way.

My new apartment is wonderful, but I guess due to the fact that it was a renovation project and not a functional home, the address didn’t really get much use. The amount of confused delivery people who have had to contact me is incredible. I feel for them tbh.

Also, to those using the devastation in Texas as support to your political or religious debates, genuinely fuck you. Most of the victims, especially at camp mystic, were children. Not pawns in a game of chess on a red and blue checkered board.

As someone “outside of the box” my relationship with Texas is complicated, but it’s still where I was born. I know the roads and I know the hearts beyond the disagreements and hatred. Seeing those roads and those people swept away by the flood hurts so bad. All the love to those affected.

I just trusted my friend with my awful living situation and they offered me a room in their house 🥺 So sweet I'm literally crying. Life would be so much better with distance from my family. I'd finally have space to be an adult and wouldn't have to pay $1200/month for it.

Poppy War… Their relationships with anger and the way they have to decide between balance and chaos is so complex and powerful. Also, often children in books suddenly gain an adult pov in difficult situations, but Rin’s youth is so painfully obvious in her approach to difficult situations. Gorgeous.
