“Hey quick follow up for the History Respecter — what aspect of the Confederacy are you *most* proud of?

The treason against the United States? The defense of slavery? All the losing? I bet it’s the losing.”
Hegseth on restoring a Confederate monument in Arlington cemetery: "We recognize our history. We don't erase it. We don't follow the woke lemmings off the cliff that want to tear down statues ... we're proud of our history."

Assuming the assassin’s list going around is real, it really goes to show how local and state officials are our friends and neighbors. On the list are several state legislators who I have personal connections to: my neighbor, a high school classmate, a college classmate’s mom.

Seeing a lot of confusion in the comments about why he’s only charged with 2nd degree murder. To clarify, in MN, prosecutors can charge up to 2nd degree right away, then have to ask for grand jury approval to charge 1st degree. That is a separate step that will definitely happen.

This @newyorker.com piece has been in a tab on my phone for a while and finally read it today. It is a gut punch of long-form journalism about our justice system and faith. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Sisters from a convent outside Waco have repeatedly visited the prisoners—and even made them affiliates of their order. The story of a powerful spiritual alliance.

New: Trump officials have paused all external communications at health agencies like CDC, FDA, NIH.

No health alerts and the famed MMWRs; no updates to key websites or social media posts.

And no indication how long the pause will last.
