Strategy for the next four years:

Do not give the outrage the opposition wants you to feel at every turn.

Do give yourself all the awareness that makes you a better fighter.

These people are energy vampires. They weaken when they don't get what they want from you.

Mass deportations are going to cost more than healthcare reform. Cost more than student loan forgiveness. Cost more than educating people for the modern world. See, you can just create money when the impetus of policy is hate and "cleansing the blood"

I am still oscillating between existential sadness and pure defiance. Rest assured the former is occupying less and less space while the latter is winning the real estate war of my resolve.

When you realize the only choice you have is to fight, because who you are and what you love will not let you give up or capitulate, that clarity of purpose will melt the fear away.
