Sarah Hurwitz and liberal Zionism’s hail mary
Sarah Hurwitz’s now-viral appearance at the Jewish Federations of North America General Assembly has exposed the crisis of Zionism in the U.S. and Jewish leaders’ desperation to confront it.

> “The problem isn’t that we have 42 million participating on SNAP,” FitzSimons said. “The problem is that we have 42 million people living in poverty in a system where the minimum wage is nowhere near the livable wage.”
The Boston Globe identified the companies in Massachusetts that employ the most SNAP recipients. A key stat: "In Massachusetts, 74% of working-age recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are employed, half of them full-time."

Dimon on why JPMorgan Chase is not funding WH Ballroom:
We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

I've said this before but it bears repetition: the consequence of allowing bigotry & other cruelty into your coalition is that everyone starts to stand up for one another a lot less. That's one reason why tolerance of bigotry &/or cruelty is the antithesis of good antifascism.

every piece of nazi agitprop going forward in time will come wrapped in layers of smirking irony and esoteric cryptogrammatics, every radioactive hitler particle coated in puckish obfuscation

the shit-eating plausible deniability is the point
Also, the Nazi winking troll technique that has become completely omnipresent in US government social media. It's out of control. The whole game is to drop as many clues as possible while never quite explicitly endorsing neo-Nazism, so if you accuse them of it they can say you're paranoid.
"Western civilization," the font, the 11 stars - 11 states in the confederacy, for the record.

Why is this never news? Why are we letting our government agencies do this sort of thing while the news agencies report on hallucinated trade deals and act like everything is normal

Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

Rest in peace, Sarah Beckstrom (2005–2025). A young life taken far too soon in Washington, D.C. Her future was stolen, her story cut short, and our nation is poorer for it.

In case you’re wondering why Pete Hegseth is freaking out about a congressional video reminding the military not to participate in illegal orders:
To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

You and me both. And now folks are treating Bush Jr. like a nice old paintin' grandpa who everybody misses; forgetting the whole "lies to take us into an unnecessary war," literal torture at our Cuba concentration camp, letting the Ninth Ward in NOLA drown, mass surveillance and more.
It's cute, reading all these anguished cries: "when this is all over, these guys need to go to jail!" I remember saying that during Bush I crimes, and during Bush II crimes, and during Trump I crimes.

Guess how many of those guys went to jail.

this is how we know Trump is, in fact, a Russian agent.

Not because he advanced a Russian "peace plan" -- he's stupid enough not to realize that is what he was handed by Witkoff.

Its because Witkoff wasn't summarily fired when the truth came out.

Why aren't Dem leaders pointing this out?

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.
