This is when you know you work to much
October 6, 2025 at 4:30 PM
I like to keep a nice and tidy closet at work so I always know how many scrubs I have left. That way, I can quickly change into my scrubs and be ready for another day at work.

As nurses, we often feel we don’t have enough time to care for our patients in the way we would like. But ask yourself: Did my patients feel that I did what I could within the system we have?
If the answer is yes — or even better, if a patient tells you so — then it’s been a good day.

I really dislike it when I take a package of pills down from the shelf in the medication room and discover it’s empty. Instead of throwing the empty package in the garbage can right next to them, a coworker has just put it back on the shelf again.

Last shift of the month in the books. Walking these tunnels always feels a bit lighter when you know the month is done.

How did September  treat you?

The empty hospital corridors can feel so boring to look at. But they don’t have to be.

Imagine if these spaces were filled with color, art, or something uplifting — not just white walls and silence. Patients, families, and staff all walk these halls every day, so why not make them feel less sterile

I love it when my girlfriend says she’s just making “a little light thing” before I head off for the evening shift.

This looks more like a feast to me. Nurses don’t run on empty, and she clearly knows it.

What’s your go-to meal before a long shift?

Soon it’s time again to negotiate my salary.

Somehow it always feels a bit like this.

Any tips for making it less of a wrestling match?

Did you know Florence Nightingale used data visualization in the 1850s — long before computers? 📊 Her rose diagram showed how sanitation saved lives and changed the future of healthcare.

What do you think is the most powerful way nurses can use data to advocate for better care? Share below ⬇️

One of those days

Let’s be honest — nursing can feel like a battlefield. Not with weapons, but with understaffing, tech overload, compassion fatigue, and endless policy changes. 💭

Just another day in the hospital Smurf outfit.

White pants, white shoes, blue top… feels like we’re all part of the same cartoon sometimes. At least it makes us easy to spot.

Do you like your work uniform, or do you wish you could change it up?

I’ll never forget being 10 hours into a 12-hour shift with alarms going off, endless charting, and patients who needed more than I could give. I wasn’t healing anymore — I was just surviving 💭

It sounds like it could be fun being an old-time doctor… but then again, maybe not.

Medical “treatments” back then were something else. Hard to believe this was once considered real healthcare.

What do you think people in the future will laugh at from our medical practices today?
