actual Bluesky challenge: post your favorite work of art from fifty years before you were born

It's... close enough.

He does this a lot: asking for somebody's opinion and then telling them why it must be wrong because it isn't the opinion he holds.
Okay, well I think that while it might not be *frequent*, it's not very weird. Debate culture in general has shifted to video in a lot of ways, whether on Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter -- maybe Bluesky is the laggard.

How long have you been at this, @joepoulin.bsky.social?

I have a joke about Venus Callipyge, but it might make an ass of me.
I have the most amazing joke about Narcissus. It really cannot be topped.
I have a joke about Odysseus but it takes a long time to pay off.

Lol, he never ever stops doing this, does he? He apparently can't say what he wants to in public and so he tries to force everyone on to some other medium.
If you want to fight me on whether some are playing language games, I suggest we take it to DMs where I can screenshot particular things w/o challenging their ego or forcing you to comment about them, and then we can bring our conclusions (shared or not) back out.

We're about a week, a mean tweet addressed to Stephen Miller, and a bottle of vodka in Pete Hegseth's desk away from hearing about the Greater North America Co-Prosperity Sphere.
My impression is that Putin has outlined a vision to Trump where the U.S. withdraws from Europe and Asia, and in return is given a free hand to focus on dominating the Americas. This is where the Greenland and Canada annexation talk comes from.

I'm not sure this person has met anyone who's neurodivergent in his life.
When I tell you how something works, i am also implicitly telling you that this information is worth knowing.

Oh. Honey. No. Putting quotation marks around a paraphrase of you is not defamation no matter how hard you try.

Why? Because a reasonable audience will understand that the quotation marks are denoting a paraphrase rather than a verbatim quote. Also: no actual damages.

Putting the words "universally recognized convention" and "English language" in the same sentence is easily the funniest thing I've seen today.

Typical dumbass: has to pretend what they're replying to says something completely different.

This is certainly an interesting set of guidelines. I'm sure how they're enforced is going to matter a lot.

As someone who is both sick and very very tired on a business trip that was extended unexpectedly, let me just say that Olive Garden deserves quite a bit of credit some days.

I should let Carney know he actually has a majority and shouldn’t have to worry about passing his budget.

Y’know because we don’t do shutdowns if you can’t pass a budget, we choose a new government instead.
I firmly believe in a system of separated powers, because I believe in keeping government divided. Prime Ministers are *vastly* too powerful by always having a majority. Separate mandates for the exec and legislature - and I want layers and circuit breakers between "the people" and national govt.

Lmao now you’re trans Canadian? Make up your mind.

At least it's not that cold.
I did not grasp how bonkers Canadians are.

One news outlet likened the game conditions to a "snowglobe."

Crews took an hour during the game to clear snow.

"On over hour delay allowed the field crews to clear the pitch, using soccer’s answer to a Zamboni, to more playable conditions."
The CPL Final is in the middle of a snowstorm in Canada, true North American soccer heritage...how could it get any better?
