It’s all kicking off tomorrow for #ECSconference2025 in the Azores! 🌍 🐋 🐬

Looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces this week at the European Cetacean Society annual meeting ☺️

When fixing the irMS before the last bus of the day feels like solving the world’s most complicated Escape Room… 🤪 #ScienceLife #LabLife #isotope

#ECRs: Take photos (and videos) of your #research: your study species, your #fieldwork or #lab setup, you doing your research...

These will be so valuable for #SciComm (presentations, publications, media, etc.)

Take it from a recent PhD grad - I take a lot of photos and I wish I had more!
Big tip for ECR and #PhD students in #ecology: take lots of photos of everything you do in the field/lab. Get others to take photos of you. Lots. Create an image library. You'll be thankful for the rest of your career for their value in communicating your #science, like in this brilliant thread 👇
Closing by acknowledging a herculean effort by @nilomr.bsky.social to collect & analyse these data, fabulous help from @andreaestandia.bsky.social at all stages, from Loanne & Antoine in the field and Sara Keen for inspiration

Behold the #source of all knowledge! 🤭

(…for stable isotope scientists, that is)

⚡️ The “ion source” is the heart of an #isotope ratio mass #spectrometer, and makes it possible to detect the gases produced by our tissue samples 🐋🐬🐠
