We should not have to make a tactics argument about why American politicians should defend basic human rights of their own trans citizens, but apparently we have to and its obvious what the right thing to do on every vector is. Support trans people. Support trans rights. Keep hands off trans kids.

I know we're facing important problems like the global rise of fascism and all that stuff but I think it's important that we don't lose focus on the small things, too, like making sure that clancy brown and ron perlman get their own tv show where they play brothers who are bounty hunters in space

this is maybe trite at this point but it is in your interest to find ways to create things. basically everyone wants you to be consuming nonstop. making stuff, from cooking to photography or whatever, can help you feel more in control. doesn’t even have to be something you share with other people

At what point has "the far left" ever had a modicum of influence in the modern Democratic party? Harris essentially ran on a Conservative platform and Trump won because people didn't turn out for her. I feel like I'm living in an alternate reality.

the clear sign that they just don’t see these kids as real people is the endless concern over hypotheticals and the indifference to the reality that actual children are more likely to kill themselves because of these bans
Kavanaugh also brings up "detransitioners," people who "regret" their decision to transition genders. Like Alito, he cites European countries that are "pulling back" from gender-affirming care for minors, saying it's a "yellow light" or "red light" for the court that Europe is "pumping the brakes."
