Man....2025 has been a very lucky year for me! Managed to get my hands on a MSM6258V IC Chip. Now I can mix FM with ADPCM samples. I plan to use this chip for drum samples and whatever else samples. HOPEFULLY I can get some nice sounding vintage Orc hits~

I've been discussing with a Synthesizer community on discord and with what I have learned I plan to instead of assembling my YM2608 card, I will use those parts for something greater. A true FM Synthesizer powered by the YM2608. There's some other stuff I must order/acquire. 1/2

Earthion fun fact: After you have gotten to a certain point in the game you get a new ship due to the original YK-IIA being destroyed during an escape from explosion sequence. The game never tells you the name on the Steam version but the Exa Label version calls it the YK-3 #earthion #exaarcadia

The drums in earthion sound fm synthesised. But there's a lot of FM going on at the same time so the there's not enough FM channels. Could it be the drums were created on the FM channels and then sampled to be used on the sample chip on the Genesis? Such wonders! @yuzokoshiro.bsky.social

Earthion is a very good game. When you complete a level you get nothing but pure satisfaction! Another neat thing is if you check the extras list in the game you will notice they included not only the past demos but a playable prototype. I recommend playing the prototype before beating the main game

Earthion has High Pass and Low Pass settings you can tweak to really nail the sound of Earthion to your liking~ Keep in mind that it is a good idea to learn and really read up on how High Pass and Low Pass works in the idea of sound for FM Synthesis #earthion #yuzokoshiro #fm #steam #gaming
