What complacency? From the gerontocracy, sure. But from everyone else? Most people who are paying attention are very aware that this isn’t normal, at least compared to the past 80ish years of US history.

How? The US Military couldn’t take over Afghanistan or Iraq. They could do a lot of damage, and leave lasting scars, but they couldn’t win. What group of people are going to conquer the US populace?

This is a huge country, with a lot of people. The US government is being beaten by people with whistles in the 58th largest city in the US. I’m not saying they aren’t doing damage and hurting people, but they have to sneak around to do it. Who exactly is committing all this future violence?

It appears to be. Remember how the Silicon Valley Bank collapse happened because there were a bunch of rich dudes in a group chat. And Bill Ackman was a member of a group bullying Columbia University over the protests. And I think some deeply embarrassing Musk chat logs existed too.
