Congrats guys! Looking sharp also
Last week we had the honour and surprise of winning the BHF Research Story of the Year award. The award was based off our work published last year, and was only possible due to an amazing group of scientist at the University of Manchester and the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre.

I am delighted to share the work of my amazing student Dominic Isaacs! Out today in PNAS (www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...), Dom beautifully used optogenetics to show that thin-strand pericytes in the brain can send long-range electrical signals to control arteriole diameter and brain blood flow.

Oh my. This is just gorgeous from Misha Kudryashev's lab (I don't think he's here yet?). Love to see it. V ATPase resolved directly in synaptic vesicles 🤤 Lots of other neat observations in there also. Congrats to all involved! www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...
