This is what I am experiencing as a parent of a child with a disability competing in local district basketball. Coaches yelling at players who are under 18, using exertion as a punitive consequence for non-compliance - think ‘suicides’ and pushups. Even the language works me.

The hardest thing about #sobriety, for me anyway, is the clarity with which memory returns. The replaying of reel after reel of moments I tried to annihilate in the first place. A constant parade of humiliation, shame and regret. And the need to overshare. Apologies.

A man stopped me in the street to mansplain why I didn’t need to pick up after my dog because his poop is natural fertiliser for the grass and it’s what God intended. I found myself explaining I had biodegradable bags. Apologising. Now I’m just raging!

I watched ‘How to make gravy’ last night as part of my annual Christmas Movie advent calendar binge.
It was beautiful. Sad. Would have liked to have seen dad have more of a relationship with his daughters. Son Angus was great. #christmas #movies #Australian
