PANZ is trying to continue the Wihitreia Publishing programme in 2026 and is looking for a space in Wgtn in which to deliver it. They need a space large enough for 20pax seated at tables, Mon - Fri 8.30am - 5pm. If you know of such a space, email modernletters@vuw.ac.nz and we'll pass it on.

Submissions are open on the Regulatory Standards bill. The Chair of the Finance and Expenditure Committee has opened them until 23 June, ie just over four weeks, instead of the more usual six weeks for a bill with a standard six month report back date.

Took me a bit to process how big a deal this report actually is--its thus far the only review to look at the entire body of currently available research. It took two years to conduct, stands at 1,000 pages, and completely contradicts the Cass Review and the common arguments for bans on this care.
