Glory is a Catholic and part of the Red Hat Society in Lafayette, Lousiana. She is a bit of an outsider in the group due to her business, being a bookie. She is best friends with a woman who joined the nunnery who supposedly committed suicide. Glory’s daughter is in town due to some personal issues that happened in her life, and she is an attorney. She teamed up with her mom to figure out what happened to Glory B’s friend. They get caught up in a dog fighting enterprise, a drug dealer, someone who is stealing and trying to get Glory kicked out of her home and so much more. This book also talks about mental health, grief, love, and loneliness. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Transcribed Text: My Thoughts I was supposed to buddy read this with Taryn, Geena and Carly and I forgot to put in more notes on SG while reading. BUT… I will catch up I promise. This book made it to my TBR because of Nikki (@take_me_awayyy). She has been talking about this book and trying to get everyone to read it and she was right, I LOVED IT! I was kicking my feet, swooning hard and feeling all the emotions while reading. Amerie is struggling after being fired from her event planning job and being dumped. She is trying to start her own business when she runs into her ex with his new girlfriend and what is she to do but lean on the hot astronaut to pretend to be her boyfriend. But, the joke was on Amerie because Vincent also needed to get his family off of his back so he can go to space. I loved the themes tackled in this book. Vincent is grieving a sibling death and the weight of his parents fearing the potential loss of another child given his career path. Amerie is terrified her mother who has a chronic illness, sickle cell will die and the anxiety that came with that through childhood into adulthood. I read this one mostly in audio. The narrator: Angel Pean. She did a great job bringing the characters and emotion to life. I struggled a bit in the beginning with some of the breaths that were recorded in between words but that fizzled out a few chapters in.
