I honestly think that the thing I love most about "Smiling Friends" is how often it demonstrates that a change in animation techniques for a character or a scene or whatever can in and of itself be the best gag you can conceive - and proving you don't necessarily have to be in the know to 'get it'.
Production art I did in late-2024 of SQUIM on the Smiling Friends episode "Squim Returns"! I just adore this character and I had so much fun drawing him! Once again, huge thanks to Zach Hadel, Michael Cusack, and Aron Fromm for having me design this critter! 🤪

If studio CEOs coordinated, they could bring back the industry. They don’t have to watch it crumble to streaming. They don’t have to let AI eat their lunch. But the chance of coming out on top makes them willing to tank the industry trying, bc they’re so rich they’ll never feel the consequences.
