Portland is just so much cooler than Seattle, lol. I'm very much a thrift store shopper and there's SO many thrift, resale, consignment, and vintage stores in Portland. I'm currently on Hawthorne in the SE 30's cross streets and there's 2-3 awesome stores every block.

Historically, at conventions, I've been too busy volunteering or gaming, and haven't gone to a lot of panels. I've been trying to have better boundaries about volunteering and have been going to panels... I'm starting to think it's a 50/50 chance on whether a sci-fi panel winds up being about AI.

I assumed Nicola was making up a narratively satisfying explanation for a fucked up historical fact or at least rumor, but then the author's note at the end reveals that that entire plot line was made up???
