I did not do 14 or 20. Re:14 - I didn't have internet at home during the dialup years. I used the university's internet. Only rich people had home internet then, I was a broke student. Re:20 - I was a library person and if I needed encyclopedias, I just used theirs, which required planning ahead.

This is us 20 (!) years ago today, right after we eloped. We stopped for a celebratory drink after the courthouse. He was getting ready to deploy and wanted to make sure I had rights and protection in case something happened. What a ride it's been. ♥️

For the #TerrierTuesday theme #ChangingTimes, I submit Penny. It took her 2 times to pass her daycare interview because of nerves, but she rallied and became Camper of the Month within a few short months and is now their go-to for interview assistance because she is so gentle with new dogs.

I'm on day 34 of being furloughed. After the first 2 weeks I knew I had to find something to do. I'm now a volunteer with our local humane society. I've been doing dishes and laundry most days. Waiting for the Kitty Academy class later this month so I can pet/socialize all the cats! 1/2

There’s a chipmunk loose downstairs. Ollie brought it in and it got downstairs before Penny could snag it. Penny has never, and will never, go to the basement level of the house. Anyway, I can’t find it.

This is the asshole who brings me live chipmunks on a regular basis. It’s a game. He has no interest in killing them. He likes to chase them INSIDE the house, but rarely can catch them. I don’t know how the hell he catches so many outside.

It's Oliver's #GotchaDay! Four years ago today I fed a sad little cat who showed up on our property. He decided he was home and moved right in. Nothing makes me happier than being chosen by this perfect little monster. Details in ALTs.

He's standing near a truck tire a little hunched over looking tired and a little suspicious. I had seen him twice before this day hunting on our property and decided the next time I saw him I would offer him some food. He was interested in the food, but more interested in me. When I tried to walk away from him he jumped up my leg and bit me. He did not want me to leave. I felt terrible. We had 3 senior dogs and one senior cat at the time and I didn't see a path for him to join the group. Oliver had an agenda, though. I would go outside and sit down with him. In this pic he's snuggled up in my lap with his eyes closed and my arm is wrapped around him. He just wanted to be held. I was so scared the dogs would hurt him because he kept coming in the fenced part of the yard and they would chase him. He watched them use their dog door and decided he could totally do that. So he did. He would just come in the house with them and sit there in the mud room. I kept putting him back out because he hadn't been to the vet yet and we had that senior indoor cat. We lost her a couple of weeks later. I took Oliver to the vet - no microchip. We had him chipped and fixed and accepted we had a new cat. He just wanted to be part of everything and I have never had a cat who is just so loving and friendly. The vet estimated his age as 3 when we found him. I have no idea where he came from, or if he had a family at some point. I did try to find out if he had a family and posted his pictures looking for his owner. Thank goodness no one claimed him! This guy runs the house and helped us mourn our senior dogs when we lost them and embraced the crazy little dog who joined our family last year. We all know who's in charge.
