"seeing past" my disability is not a compliment. It ignores a huge part of who I am as if it is negative, or something to be ashamed of. And only when you see my disability can you truly accept it and become an advocate and and all.

Yesterday, I had to "polar bear" myself on my tiled kitchen floor in order to cool down.

Today, due to dark, heavy rain clouds, I had to turn the inside lights on at lunchtime, as there wasn't enough natural light in the house to see properly.

Ahhh...Scottish summers!

Blue looks frustrated, frowning at Green's back as Green turns back around to look away from him. Blue: Fine. Are you going to sulk about it all day? Blue calmly accepts his fate as Green answers nonchalantly. Green: Making you a breakfast in bed. Blue: Okay.

After trauma. We literally can't just " move on like nothing happened" if we try to continue functioning without knowledging and caring for our injury, we're going to do more damage like trying to keep walking on a broken leg. Denial and good attitude doesn't replace a cast and crutches.
