I paint and make ceramic art in the Pacific Northwest. My art reflects my understanding that everything is interdependent, interconnected, and sentient.
I think I might still have work to do on this oil painting but I wanted to post it anyway.
I would love to hear anyone’s impressions about what it speaks to you. This would help me decide how to proceed. Thank you.

It was good to go to one of the local Hands Off rallies here in Washington State yesterday. I spent the day before making signs in my studio. There was a big crowd of kind and caring folks gathered. Maybe a few thousand. The sun was shining.

There was a small crack after the first firing of this porcelain. I decided to keep working to glaze it because I loved the piece.
This happened during the glaze firing. It feels like our world to me. It is still in one piece but is very fragile and could break if not handled with utmost care.

Flying with Moon
Ceramic.
Of the billions and billions of galaxies in the universe we know of only one planet with birds. We find ourselves here. My dream is for humanity to be gentle and loving to our home and all beings as we fly through the cosmos together.

“Together in the Woods” is one of my newest oil paintings. My time is always split between my painting studio and ceramic studio, for which I am grateful. The winter is a great time to work on the oil paintings between glaze firing the ceramics.

Local frogs - raised, photographed, and drawn by our artist friend David Tabor. My husband Clay threw the pot. We scanned David’s drawings and made them into stencils that I arranged on the pot, underglazed around them, removed the stencils and glazed the pot.
