I think we as a whole need to stop assuming social media platforms are just "bad money makers". Banning tiktok while Meta is not only removing fact checking, but allowing for discriminatory language, is not a "bad business choice". It's fuking insidious.

I have 2 classes left before my associates. My english professor rapidly checked all of my 🚩 boxes. it's the only course available this semester. Thank god my classmates seem just as baffled by this man as I am, I just hope I can keep my big mouth shut this semester (I won't)

a lot of creatives fall into the habit of monetizing everything they do and there's something to be said for making your creations into cash but its so important to keep some of your creations just for yourself because when it becomes IMPERATIVE to perform you're on the road to burnout

My hot take as a teacher is that I despise any classroom management system that uses "money" that students earn by following rules or doing classroom chores. I especially despise systems that require students to "pay" for their cubbies, art supplies, activities.
