Turns out your ebike’s bosch motor can totally go underwater for a little bit!
Also the bottom of ggp by murphy windmill is quite flooded

Interesting bike commute this morning.
30mph tailwind: great, amazing

30mph sidewind: kinda like windsurfing, pretty fun

30mph headwind: impossible, feels like I’m stuck the whole time, I need goggles & earmuffs
November 5, 2025 at 5:23 PM
Would it be a very bad idea to do my usual drop off route through GGP because of the wind?

It’s on me for using booking, but what a stupid push notification, complete with typo…

Briefly in Paris, reminds me again of how inadequate Muni is… but hey, at least Muni can take you to 9 golf courses, can’t do that with the métro

Why is SF so smoky today?? Is it just from our own car & chimney fumes?

I consistently get my best software design ideas while biking on sunset dunes & not thinking about work at all…
Something about the mild exertion, caffeine & low stress.
Meanwhile I struggle with in-person brainstorms which I find stressful & unproductive

You can tell it’s going to be warm already… no fog & no wind by ocean beach
September 23, 2025 at 2:10 PM
The new stern grove playground is nice, but it has no bathrooms and it’s super bike unfriendly to get to…
unfortunate

we tried nothing to reduce traffic deaths and it somehow didn’t work

S.F. was supposed to have zero traffic deaths by now. What happened?
San Francisco’s Vision Zero plan to end traffic deaths failed. A new resolution pushes for renewed enforcement, outreach, and accountability.

My poor valks, such an unfortunate last quarter… but what an incredible first seasons

Very cool sighting on sunset dunes: someone clearing sand with a street sweeper attached behind a bike.
I had never seen that before!
September 17, 2025 at 4:24 PM
I’ve been lucky enough to see dolphins every day of the past 4 days at Ocean Beach, and it never gets old!
Also the pelicans & thousands of sooty shearweathers, it’s all so cool

Had a great time at the dogs on bikes event at sunset dunes!

I wonder if those pro/anti recall neighbors get along, they’re in the same house!
August 13, 2025 at 8:05 PM
One thing I’m learning from all the ggp closures is.. we could have car free chain of lakes & MLK, and it would be just fine!
It might even save drivers from themselves when they try stupid manoeuvres to get into CoL from Lincoln/Fulton

The naturalization ceremony message from Biden really made me feel like a regular US citizen. It emphasized America as this aspirational idea of inclusion.
But I guess I am instead only kind of a citizen, as always the ideals remain theoretical

Trump’s justice department issues directive to strip naturalized Americans of citizenship for criminal offenses
Memo says those subjected to civil proceedings are not entitled to an attorney like they are in criminal cases

Lovely sunset in sunset dunes park!
So many people enjoying the promenade

The sfchronicle makes itself very hard to like a lot of the times, for example when their political writers choose to pen completely fact-free reactionary nonsense about protests.

Will Democrats finally stop defending protesters who turn to thuggery?
OPINION: “If Newsom and protest organizers don’t mute the vandals this summer, then Trump wins the fight for public opinion. Those ‘anarchists’ will become Trump’s best weapon,” Joe...

Everytime I visit my in-laws in Capitola, I’m struck at how many middle schoolers are just riding ebikes around all by themselves.

It doesn’t really seem like a thing in SF. I wonder if they just prefer public transit in the city, or if they just have too many scheduled activities
May 11, 2025 at 2:31 AM
How SF managed to build the central subway without connecting the station to the single other transit tunnel in downtown is really something…
anyways, go Valks!

Beautiful day at sunset dunes park!

Those burns on ghwy mark the spot where cops put down flares after the last deadly crash on this road.
I’m reminded every time I walk by Ulloa, I wish the park could’ve come 2 months earlier.
