We live with 30 sweet goats in Maine! We make goat milk products, lead yoga classes and help birth of around 60 babies each spring. Thousands visit in person April-October and year round online by watching the 24/7 webcam and Farm YouTube channel.
Hey Maine small business owners! We’re seeing slow down in farm sales beyond what we normally see in mid August over the last decade. Wondering if that’s unique to us or if this is a trend for businesses right now. Yoga is still busy, but shop sales are minimal. Eager to hear what you think!

Beautiful gathering in the center of Cumberland Maine today! I find online folks are hateful, but the people who come out in person are looking for hope and connection. #maine #maineproud

Woke up 😡 and 😩 about the state of the country. Frustrated about everything beyond my power to change. Then I sat with the goats & decided to let my heart take the day off. The crazy will wait. I am going to bed refocused on all the good in the world so I can use it as fuel⛽️ tomorrow. Be the Goat!

Proof that you can find joy anywhere, even in the Maine winter ocean! No putting this collective, loud and lovely spirit back in a box! 1500 women strong! We are undefinable, unstoppable, and full of even more untapped power! Thanks for the lift ladies!!! #womenswave #internationalwomensday #maine

Governor Mills visited the farm with her family during the pandemic. She was so lovely. Today I’m extra happy to have met her. Being the GOAT means standing up to bullies, protecting ALL the people of our great state and seeing the bigger picture. Mills does all that! Proud to be a Maine farmer!

It's not just that officials have blocked CDC from publishing bird flu studies

Scientists were ordered to come up with studies on health risks of wildfires instead

That came as the president was criticizing the California governor's handling of fires

The spiteful storm of words and actions can not bury the beautiful heart of America. America’s diversity is what makes us great. Community is a cure. We become better by picking up a shovel and making bright paths forward for our herd. Keep shoveling friends.

Authoritarians can’t rise if there are strong communities and people are acting with joy…you need despair and anger in order for an authoritarian to rise…Showing up and doing the things you love says to an authoritarian, “You have no place to root here!” -Heather Cox Richardson

People who visit the goats soften, melt saying things like: “this is the best therapy” or “I’m in love!” or “they love me!” Animals connect us with our most human loving selves. Do you have a connection to someone who studies this magic? I’d love research to back up my anecdotal experience!

Today there are endless stories of power playing out in the world,
leaving their imprint.

If we were lucky enough to awake with wings,
Let’s use them to protect
rather than consume.

In a world of hawks,
let us be the goat—
protectors of the herd,
fiercely gentle,
alert and sweet.

The first lesson of Roxy’s dog training is repeating the word “yes” to the dog. What if we started there with ourselves too? YES to showing up in the confusing magical now. “If we say yes to a single moment, then we have not only said yes to ourselves, but to the whole of existence.” -Nietzsche

The chaos, the sadness, the meanness will always be waiting on the other side of that door, but occasionally you get to choose to linger a bit longer on the side where the world is sweet. Absorb the light and wear it into the day like armor made of warm honey.

New to Blue Sky, but excited to connect! Do you find reasons to smile so big your face hurts and stay open to allowing both beauty and despair to move you to tears? Do you get excited each day about how much animals and nature can teach us about being more human? If so, welcome friends! Hugs, Hope
